  •   A great day, visiting some of the main attractions of the cape, that are quite hard to access without your own transport. Well worth it. The lunch was fantastic, our guide was more than hospitable and friendly and had good knowledge about what was going...More

  •   We were on the full day tour with Khotso and he was super knowledgeable about all things Cape Town. The tour is in the van pictured and as such, a smaller group than the big busses which is a plus. I also really enjoyed the...More

  •   I had an amazing time on the Lucky and Lost Peninsula Tour. We saw all of the main sights at a very relaxed pace. It was nice that the company made it personal and the tour did not feel too

We want you to experience Cape Town with all of your senses

Lucky and Lost was started by a couple of backpackers who are passionate about traveling and people, but ‘hate’ tours in the traditional sense!

We realized that our most memorable travel experiences were with locals who showed us the best places to go, how to experience them and the friends we made along the way.

We want to provide the same experience for other travellers in our home town.

That’s why we do things a little differently …

We swim upstream

Our tour goes in the opposite direction of everyone else, that’s because we do it like a local and crowds aren’t exactly our idea of fun

Small Groups

13 people max. That equals a great day out whether you are a lone wolf, happy couple or traveling in a pack -as long as you are fun at heart

Guides who love this city

We only use local guides who are stoked to show and share wth you stories, knowledge and tips about their home town

Local Cuisine

Expect to experience South Africa with your taste buds! All food included and lovingly prepared for you to enjoy

Local  Music

We love music and we love local! When we put them together you will get a real taste of the diversity that is South Africa. Trust us on this one

When we do something we like to do it right, that’s why Lucky & Lost offers the 1-day Essential Cape Town Tour. Departing daily between 8:00 and 9:00am (pickup from accommodation in Cape Town Central and surrounds), we combine local sights, flavours & smells to make your day unforgettable.

From Bo Kaap, visiting our penguin friends, spotting shipwrecks at the Cape of Good Hope & sipping on some famous South African wine, if you only have a few days here in Cape Town then you should definitely spend one with us!

Rolling in a crew or just want some extra leg room? You can follow one of our usual itineraries

Or think penguin paddles, exploring Table Mountain, inner city adventures, giraffe smooches, champagne pairings or stroking a full grown cheetah. Your itinerary will be custom built according to your preferences

Please note we only associate with reputable eco tourism and animal conservation centres

We are not fond of rules but here are a few guidelines to make the best of your day:

Please wear comfortable walking shoes

Bring a hat & sunscreen (spf30+), the African sun is serious!

Bring a refillable water bottle. It really does help the environment!

Pack a swimming costume and towel so you can dry off after lunch if you decide to have a swim.

Pack something warm, the weather in Cape Town can change quicker than it takes Brendan to eat a large pizza
