  •   We were on their essential tour with great tour guide Khotso on 19 April. What a day! Stunning scenery, friendly participants, comfortable transportation and so tasty coeksisters (a dessert) after the picnic. Saw penguins, baboons, ostriches and some more. The following day we listened to...More

  •   A lot of different and nice experiences are proposed in this 1 day tour that covers pretty much everything a tourist would like to do in the Cape Peninsula: penguins, Good Hope cape, wineyards. But our awesome guide, Brendan, brings a special touch by telling...More

We want you to experience Cape Town with all of your senses

Lucky and Lost was started by two backpackers who are passionate about traveling and people, but ‘hate’ tours in the traditional sense!

We realized that our most memorable travel experiences were with locals who showed us the best places to go, how to experience them and the friends we made along the way.

We want to provide the same experience for other travellers in our home town.

That’s why we do things a little differently …

We swim upstream

Our tour goes in the opposite direction of everyone else, that’s because we do it like a local and crowds aren’t exactly our idea of fun

Small Groups

13 people max. That equals a great day out whether you are a lone wolf, happy couple or traveling in a pack -as long as you are fun at heart

Guides who love this city

We only use local guides who are stoked to show and share with you stories, knowledge and tips about their home town

Local Cuisine

Expect to experience South Africa with your taste buds! All food included and lovingly prepared for you to enjoy

Local  Music

We love music and we love local! When we put them together you will get a real taste of the diversity that is South Africa. Trust us on this one

Instead of offering a bunch of different tours and doing them half heartedly we focus on 2 unmissable Cape Town experiences.

Cape Peninsula Day Tour and Cape Town Wine Tour!

Departing between 8 and 9am we combine local sights, flavours, sounds and charm to make your day unforgettable!

Start in Bo Kaap, visit our penguin friends at Boulders Beach, spot shipwrecks at the Cape of Good Hope & sip on some famous South African wine, if you only have a few days here in Cape Town then you should definitely spend one with us!

Price increase to R1200 per person as of 1 November 2018 due to SANParks increasing their entrance fees

Our much anticipated wine tour is finally here! It’s taken a while and we’ve had to taste alot of wine but we know we have a trip of a lifetime that represents the Cape, the grapes and its people!

Rolling in a crew or just want some extra leg room? You can follow one of our usual itineraries

Or think penguin paddles, exploring Table Mountain, inner city adventures, giraffe smooches, champagne pairings or come face-to-face with some furry friends. Your itinerary will be custom built according to your preferences

Please note we only associate with reputable eco tourism and animal conservation centres

Below prices exclude lunch and all entrance and activity fees. This allows us to be more flexible on the day!

1 – 2 pax R3000/US$240 per day

3 – 4 pax R4000/US$320 per day

5 – 6 pax R5000/US$400 per day

7-13 pax R6000/US$480 per day

We are not fond of rules but here are a few guidelines to make the best of your day:

Please wear comfortable walking shoes

Bring a hat & sunscreen (spf30+), the African sun is serious!

Bring a refillable water bottle. It really does help the environment!

Pack a swimming costume and towel so you can dry off after lunch if you decide to have a swim.

Pack something warm, the weather in Cape Town can change quicker than it takes Brendan to eat a large pizza
