Translated from Afrikaans, Bo Kaap means “Upper Cape”, given it’s location to the city. You will understand why real estate pricing is on the rise and residents are protesting to protect their heritage when you enjoy the beautiful views of the neighborhood with their colourful houses, cobbled stone roads and old buildings. One of our very favourite roads in the Bo Kaap was the cover of Lonely Planet and the most Instagramable corner in Cape Town.

Come along to find out why the houses are painted all these majestic colours. There are as many stories as there are colours!

Make sure to pop your head in to one of the corner stores or perhaps you’d like to grab a coffee at the most popular Coffee Roastery in the city
